In a groundbreaking move for Nigerian footballers in the Premier League, Fulham stars Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi are taking centre stage in their very own club-produced series titled The Bassey and Iwobi Show.
Set to premiere this weekend exclusively on Fulham FC TV (FFCtv), the series marks the first time two Nigerian players have headlined a regular Premier League show.
Each episode will explore a different theme, with the debut instalment focusing on “Scoring”—a subject both players know plenty about.
The concept was first teased back in 2024 during a lighthearted media day, but after months of anticipation, the duo is now ready to bring their personalities and football journeys to fans in a fresh, engaging format.
Calvin Bassey has enjoyed a stellar rise since his arrival from Ajax in July 2023 for a reported €21 million fee.
The powerful defender has grown into standout performer at Craven Cottage, scoring his first goal in a crucial 2–1 away win at Manchester United in February 2025.
He ended the season with 29 Premier League appearances and was deservedly voted Fulham’s Player of the Season for the 2024–25 campaign, becoming the first Nigerian to claim the honour in the club's history.
International teammate Alex Iwobi, who joined from Everton in September 2023, also had a memorable second season at Fulham.
In April, Iwobi etched his name into the history books by surpassing Mikel John Obi as the Nigerian with the most minutes played in Premier League history.
The camaraderie between the pair has been well-documented, with Iwobi describing the team as a “brotherhood” earlier this year.
That bond will now be on full display as fans get a behind-the-scenes look at two of Nigeria’s finest ambassadors in English football.
