The Nigerian Ports Authority has fired back at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control over the recent surge in Nigeria's coronavirus cases from 51 to 65.

Recall that the NCDC reported 14 new cases of the COVID-19 virus with 6 cases detected on a vessel.

The NPA has now refuted those claims, stating the Port Health has not recorded any confirmed cases to date.

While clarification is yet to be made on either side, the NCDC acknowledged error in its report of the latest 14 new cases.

Initially, it reported 2 cases in Abuja and 12 in Lagos. However, the health agency has corrected its error to say 14 new cases have been discovered with 12 in Lagos, 1 in Abuja and another in Bauchi.
