Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has once again warned against social gathering during the period of lockdown in the state.

Frowning against report of sporting activities and religious gathering taking place in lockdown period, Sanwo-Olu stated that such could weaken the effort by the state to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

In a series of tweets, Sanwo-Olu stated that such gathering is not safe for now because people may not know when a carrier who isn't showing symptoms of the virus mingles with them.

He tweeted: "While we celebrate the small mercies, reports of youths gathering for social and sporting activities as well as those gathering for religious purposes are unfortunate. This kind of insensitivity could be the weak link in our collective effort to break the chain of transmission.

"Anyone could be a carrier of #COVID19 without showing symptoms immediately and looking at global transmission, one weak link can lead to community vulnerability. Please help the government, @NCDCgov and @LSMOH by playing your role which is to #StayHomeSaveLives".
