COVID-19 cases in Nigeria now 51, as Rivers record fresh case

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria has soared to 51.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, the five new cases have taken the previous toll from 46 to 51.

The five cases consist of two extra cases in the Federal Capital Territory, two in Lagos and one fresh case in Rivers state.

Three out of the five are returning travelers into Nigeria while the other two are close contacts of a confirmed case.

A breakdown of the cases by states is thus:

Lagos- 32 FCT- 10 Ogun- 3 Ekiti- 1 Oyo- 1 Edo- 1 Bauchi-1 Osun-1 Rivers-1

Total: 51 confirmed cases
