COVID-19: We will support Nigerians with food - Pinnick

Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), swayed in the fight against the deadly coronavirus in Nigerian.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on Monday night, extended the Lockdown in Abuja, Ogun and Lagos by two-weeks to curb the deadly virus that has infected 343 people so far in about 19 states.

With many lamenting about the hardship caused bt the initial two-weeks lockdown, The NFF's plan to support Nigerians with food could come in useful if properly coordinated.

During an interview on Channels TV, Pinnick stated that:

“Behind the scene, we do quite a lot. We are going to support some of these centres even if it is buying some tubers of yams.

“We have to do that. COVID-19 is something that nobody expected,” he said.

All footballing activities in the country, including the Nigeria Professional Football League - NPFL, have been suspended due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control - NCDC's report on Monday night, 91 people have been discharged with 10 fatalities.
