COVID-19: Funke Akindele prays for pregnant women, newborn babies

Nollywood star, Funke Akindele, has expressed her thoughts towards all pregnant women as the world battles the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The actress who recently completed her 14-days community service as part punishment for defying social distancing order took to social media to say a word of prayer for the expectant mothers.

"The Lord will keep them all safe and we will only hear good news from their camps!! AMEN!!!," she said on Twitter.

In her Instagram story, the actress said, "Prayers for all the pregnant women and newborn babies during this pandemic attack. May they all be safe and sound in Jesus name."

The prayer is one timely action by the actress as records show that pregnant women and their babies are not immune from the dead;y virus.

About eight babies were reportedly diagnosed with the deadly virus in Japan, according to reports, while some pregnant women have also been diagnosed with the virus that has also killed at least one baby in places like the US and the UK.

In Nigeria, a 29-year-old pregnant woman was confirmed positive some days ago, only to die on Wednesday from the virus, leaving behind her newborn baby, according to Governor Ayodele Fayemi of Ekiti state.

Funke Akindele is a mother herself with two lovely twins for her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, aka, JJC Skillz.
