Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has issued a warning to Nigeria’s locally based players ahead of their clash against Senegal in the CAF African Nations Championship.

Nigeria will kick off their campaign against Senegal later today (Tuesday, August 5).

Speaking ahead of the group opener, the Malian tactician urged the locally based Super Eagles to be mindful of Senegal’s football legacy and strong squad.

“I don’t think it is a derby, but this is a game between two big countries in Africa,” Chelle said.

“They have a history in football. Senegal have a good generation and a good team.

“So our preparation for this game has been good, and we’ll look to implement everything we’ve worked on into this match.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m. local time.
