Senator Shehu Sani and Reno Omokri recently had an exchange on Twitter over the suspension and arrest of Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Reno Omokri, the former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, described the suspension and arrest of Emefiele as vindictiveness.

However, Senator Shehu Sani commended President Tinubu for evicting Godwin Emefiele and appointing Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi as acting Governor of CBN.

According to Sani, the "CBN was operated as an ATM of the Cabal, a Canteen and Cash Cow of the parasitic elites of the past administration."

He tweeted; "The eviction of Emefiele is commendable. The appointment of Shonubi as acting Governor is commendable. But the Housecleaning of the CBN can only be done by engaging a team of auditors from OUTSIDE of the CBN. Only they can professionally and thoroughly probe the apex Bank and tell the country how the Bank was run under Buhari’s Emefiele. The CBN was operated as an ATM of the Cabal, a Canteen and Cash Cow of the parasitic elites of the past administration."

Reacting to his comment, Reno disagreed with the former senator and asked why he chose to kick a man while he is down.

Reno slammed Sani for applauding President Tinubu for suspending Godwin Emefiele the suspended Governor is under detention and cannot respond to his allegations.

He posted; "Senator @ShehuSani, don't you think it is in bad taste to kick a man while he is down? Godwin Emefiele is under detention and cannot respond to your allegations. You know how Nigerians love drama without evidence, and you are feeding that. The man made powerful enemies with the Naira redesign policy, which was meant to clean up our elections, and they are now in a position to deal with him. He is already carrying an elephant on his head. Please don't add a goat to the load he is carrying. Remember when the EFCC arrested you? I fought for you when you were not able to speak. Please Google it. I tackled the El-Rufais, who mocked you. Perhaps a man with your experience should be better able to empathise with Emefiele. It is more honourable to make the allegation when he is in a position to defend himself."

Responding to Reno's tweet, Sani shared some screenshots from publications to prove his points.
