The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have okayed 10000 fans to watch the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Lesotho live at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos. There have been fears that no fans would be allowed to be in the stadium to see the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
CAF have told the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that they can have only 10000 in the stadium to comply with COVID-19 protocols.
According to several reports, CAF have also warned against any breach of the Covid 19 protocols, including temperature checks and social distancing in the stadium.
This is good news for Lagosians who are excited to see the Super Eagles play live in the city for the first time in 20 years.
The Super Eagles have not played in Lagos since 2000 when the National Stadium in Surulere was still in good shape.
Nigeria will take on Lesotho on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in their last game of the AFCON qualifier.
