The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reportedly confirmed Rabat as the city to host Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers playoff clash against Gabon next month.

This was disclosed by sports journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, who, in a post on X, stated that the news was revealed by National Sports Commission Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Dikko.

“I have just been told by National Sports Commission Chairman Alhaji Shehu Dikko that Rabat has been confirmed to the teams as the venue for the FIFA World Cup Playoffs for CAF. I presume it will be the Olympic Stadium, which hosted the opening and closing games of the WAFCON.”

The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the semi-final of the playoff on Thursday, November 13.

The winner of this tie will take on either Cameroon or DR Congo in the final playoff, with the eventual winner proceeding to represent Africa in the intercontinental playoffs next year.
