A businesswoman has exonerated singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, following attacks from influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VeryDarkMan had accused Peter Okoye of reaching out to him via text message amid a brouhaha in the singer's family.

Peter Okoye had been releasing videos exposing how his twin brother, Rudeboy, and elder brother Jude Okoye, allegedly swindled him of thousands of dollars during his time in the music duo, Psquare.

However, VDM issued a series of videos with claims that Peter Okoye was being economical with the truth. He also claimed to have evidence against the singer's revelations.

This, he said, led Peter Okoye to reach out to him via chat messages. He then shared brief screenshots of the messages.

Reacting, the woman, whose name is yet to be revealed, stated that Peter Okoye's messages to VeryDarkMan were from when she involved him in her attempt to recover $60,000 she allegedly lost to a scam while she was pregnant.

“Guys, I’m going to attach the video right now. You see that Peter, the young guy that scammed me, I was the one that called Peter. I was pregnant then; this is my baby,” she said.

According to her, she reached out to the singer while crying over the alleged loss, and Peter Okoye agreed to help her contact VDM.

“I was pregnant; I called Peter and was crying about how I was scammed $60,000. Peter said, ‘Okay, he’s going to talk to VDM.’ I begged him to talk to VDM. I’ll attach all the records to this video,” she added.

She claimed that VDM subsequently ignored Peter’s attempts to reach him, despite Peter having previously supported VDM when he was arrested.

“Only for VDM to ignore Peter. Ah! That guy is wicked now,” she said.

According to her, VDM is passing off old messages as recent chats and going further to link them to the Okoye family crisis.

The woman also recalled Peter’s alleged intervention when VDM was arrested, saying, “Peter was one of the people when they arrested VDM that used his platform. Guys, I mean Peter posted on his page for them to free EFCC to free VDM.”

She then appealed to VDM to allow Peter to speak, accusing him of being unfair to the singer. “Peter ah ah nah. VDM, not now, now. Not now that this man is, the first time this man is coming out to talk. Allow him to talk now,” she said.

“Ah! You’re so wicked. You’re a wicked person. Guys, I’m the person. I was attached to it.”
