Nigerian singer Teni has shared a humorous confession about her pre-fame days, revealing how a minor fabrication on her curriculum vitae abruptly ended her brief career as a nanny.
Reflecting on her past employment experiences, the entertainer disclosed that she took on two separate nanny jobs, neither of which lasted a full week.
According to Teni, her second gig working for a doctor married to a Nigerian man hit a snag when her employers asked about her domestic skills.
Having listed cooking on her CV, the singer admitted she included the skill without anticipating that she would actually be put to the test.
"I was once a nanny for 3 days. I did 2 nanny jobs but didn’t last up to 1 week," Teni recounted, adding with amusement, "I didn’t know they’ll say I should actually cook."
True to her fears, her attempt at meal preparation went awry when the food burned. The kitchen mishap cost her the position the very next day, as her employer called to inform her not to return.
