Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has opened up about his once-public beef with late South African rapper AKA.
Recall that Burna Boy and AKA fell out in 2019 after Burna threatened to “deal” with the rapper if they ever crossed paths.
The drama started when AKA allegedly stirred tensions during the AFCON period by posting screenshots of hateful messages he claimed came from Nigerians, at a time when xenophobic attacks against Nigerians were already heating up in South Africa.
Fast-forward to now, Burna Boy has confirmed that the matter didn’t end in bad blood.
In a heartfelt post shared on his Instagram page to mark AKA’s posthumous birthday, the African Giant revealed that they had quietly settled their issues in private messages, something many fans never knew.
Burna Boy wrote: “Happy birthday Supa Mega. We fell out over bullsht. Even though we squashed it over Twitter DMs nobody knew about, we never got the chance to really link up and do what we were supposed to do. I will regret that until I see you again. Until then, R.I.P Mega.”
