Burna Boy jets into Istanbul ahead of Champions League final performance

Nigerian singer Burna Boy has landed in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, ahead of his performance at the UEFA Champions League final.

The Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter and producer will co-headline the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show by Pepsi at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday, June 10.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner will be thrilling over 75,000 fans, who will be there to watch the epic cracker between Manchester City and Inter Milan.

Pep Guardiola will hope to complete a treble by winning the title for the English club, but it would be a tough task against three-time champions Inter.

Dropping off a private jet as it landed in Istanbul was superstar Burna Boy, who was welcomed by the organisers.

He said via UEFA:

"The world isn't ready for what we have in store. As a huge football fan myself, I know it doesn't get any bigger than the UEFA Champions League!

“That's why I'm so excited to be performing on the Pepsi stage at this year's final. Music and football are the ultimate combination, so you already know I'll be bringing the vibes and making magic in Istanbul. The world isn't ready for what we have in store!"

He will become the first-ever African to perform in the Champions League final, following up his appearance at the 2023 NBA All-Star weekend halftime show.
