Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Burna Boy and Colombian music icon, Shakira have reunited ahead of Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final, sharing a lighthearted moment during rehearsals at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Burna Boy posted a video on X showing the pair exchanging smiles, laughter and a warm embrace as preparations intensify for the tournament’s first-ever halftime show at a World Cup final.
The singer teased the upcoming performance with a message to fans, expressing excitement about taking the stage alongside Shakira during the global football spectacle.
FIFA previously confirmed that Burna Boy and Shakira will headline the halftime entertainment, performing Dai Dai, the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The show is expected to feature a star-studded lineup, including BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Gustavo Dudamel, Coldplay’s PS22 Chorus, and appearances from Sesame Street and The Muppets characters.
The halftime segment is reportedly set to extend beyond the traditional 15-minute break, creating room for the landmark performance and related festivities.
Sunday’s final will see Spain face Argentina, with millions expected to tune in for both the football action and the entertainment showcase.
Burna Boy and Shakira previously performed Dai Dai during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City, where the World Cup anthem was officially unveiled.
