Buhari stirring anger against Nigeria, not IPOB - Sowore

Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore has exonerated the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, while blaming the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the perception the international community has concerning Nigeria.

Recall that the Presidency accused IPOB, of running campaigns funded in the tune of $85,000 USD since October 2019, with no records of the source of this largesse.

A statement issued by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, shows that the campaign speaks of the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

“Both (campaigns) are using the cover of Christianity – and calling for a US Special Envoy to be appointed to stop the “genocide” of Christians in Nigeria.

“But the real purpose is to drive a wedge between the Nigeria government and its US and UK/European allies”, the statement read in part.

In reaction, Sowore stated that the treatment Nigeria is getting is caused by the Buhari-regime which "lacks respect for human rights, religious rights, ethnic harmony" and others.

He tweeted: "Number one person stirring anger against Nigeria is Buhari's regime, not IPOB. You don’t need IPOB to tell the world that this regime lacks respect for human rights, religious rights, ethnic harmony, human security, human dignity, secularity, the rule of law! #RevolutionNow".
