President Muhammadu Buhari's in-law, Sani Mamood Sha’aban, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is coming shortly after he participated in an APC governorship primary in Kaduna state which created lots of controversies.

Sha'aban had also challenged Senator Uba Sani's victory in the primary but the court stated that the case lacked jurisdiction and it would not be pursued.

In a letter he signed on Monday, November 28, Sha'aban disclosed that activities of the party influenced his resignation.

"I have come to the firm conclusion and resolve that in all good conscience. I cannot remain a member of the APC under present State of Affairs.

“Where the interest of the majority of common folks is little regarded. I cannot remain in a Party that has little or no regard for human lives , social integration, peace and traditional values.

“I Sani Mamood Sha’aban has officially and formerly resigned my membership of the APC at all levels today 28th November, 2022.”
