Buhari hails labour leader Issa Aremu at 60

President Muhammadu Buhari has heaped words of praises on the trade unionist and labour leader, Issa Aremu, on today’s celebration of his 60th birthday.

Buhari applauded him for continuously standing for the welfare of workers and citizens.

In a congratulatory message on Thursday, January 7, 2020, in Abuja by his spokesman Femi Adesina, President Buhari joined family members, friends and associates in celebrating with the former Vice-President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Aremu is also a member of the executive council, and currently serving as the General Secretary of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN).

The statement said the labour leader has consistently displayed a depth of wisdom and knowledge on the Nigerian economy, especially on activating employment by innovative and creative means, which deserve commendation.

He lauded Aremu’s proposals on resuscitating of the textile industries across the country, saying this revealed his love for the nation.
