Buhari directs AGF to publish daily treasury statement of MDAs

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris to publish the daily summary of financial inflow and outflows from the Treasury.

He gave the directive on Monday in Abuja at the official launch of the Financial Transparency Policy and Implementation Guidelines.

Buhari also asked the AGF to publish daily reports of all payments above N10m to ministries, departments, and agencies.

The president who was represented by the Minister of State for Niger Delta, Tayo Alasoadura, said the daily treasury statements should give the breakdown of all agencies responsible for each payment.

He said the directives are part of efforts to promote transparency and accountability in the management of public finance.
