Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti has said the late former President Muhammadu Buhari “dealt and damaged” his family.
Seun, a son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, claimed that the late leader caused more damage in his family than any other family in Nigeria during his tenure as Head of State.
He, however, stated that Buhari’s death isn’t justice for the crimes he allegedly committed against his family.
He regretted that his father and uncles, whom he claimed were unjustly persecuted by Buhari, died long before the former president.
Kuti said his only consolation is that the trio would gang up against Buhari in a fight in the afterlife in there’s such thing.
Speaking in a video broadcast via his Instagram page, the singer said, “There’s nobody Buhari has offended and damaged like my family. Buhari dealt with my family, but his death is not any type of justice or victory for my family.
“My only regret is that my dad Fela, and my uncles Koye and Beko died before him; all better men than him. The only solace I can take from his death is that the three of them will gang up against him in the afterlife if there’s such a thing.”
Buhari, a former military Head of State and democratically elected President, died in a London clinic on Sunday. His remains were buried in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, on Tuesday.
