Buhari became 'weak' after his lengthy medical leave in 2017 - Ex Minister reveals

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung has alleged that members of Muhammadu Buhari's cabinet took advantage of the nature of the former President when he was in office.

Dalung who served in the cabinet of the former president between 2015 and 2019 also disclosed that he[Buhari] became less forceful after a lengthy medical tourism in the UK in 2017.

He noted that Buhari became less forceful after he returned from his medical treatment.

"When we came in, we still saw that Buhari in him. But when the president took ill and recovered and came back the president was not as forceful as he was before he took," Lalung said in an interview on Channels Television.

"To some extent, a lot of people took advantage of the nature of his person to do a lot of things that are not right."

President Buhari returned to Nigeria in August after more than three months in the UK for medical treatment for an undisclosed “health challenge”.

The 74-year-old left for London on May 7.

His prolonged absence caused tensions at a time when calls have grown for him to either return or resign.
