The absence of popular journalist Rufau Oseni on Arise Television's morning show has generated a conversation on social media.

Rufai who is known for his hard-hitting questions, his stance against corruption and his submission on issues of national unity has become popular among young Nigerians.

His absence, however, in the last week created an impression that he has been fired by the media outfit.

This led to comments such as "Bring back Rufai", "Expelling Rufai is injustice" and "We want our Rufai".

While the commentary on social media continues, the on-air-personality has confirmed he is only on holiday.

He confirmed this in a quick check-up with MyNigeria.

Rufai is a global speaker, thought leader, investor, and technology enthusiast who mentors business startups across the African continent.

He has worked for JFM Radio in Warri Unique FM in Ilesa, Gold FM in Ilesa, Ogun State television as a Sports Analyst, Ogun State Radio as a presenter, Osun State Government and Inspiration FM.

His other engagements include being an analyst on African Issues for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), an analyst on small business and economy for TV Continental, and a facilitator for the Nigerian Bar Association conference in 2021. He has also facilitated training for top management staff of Microsoft and Nielsen group.
