Breaking: Bandits break into military camp in Niger, burn vehicles

Armed bandits have stormed a military camp in the Zazzaga community, Munya Local Government Area of Niger State, burning down some vehicles.

A report on Daily Trust said the bandits engaged soldiers on the ground in a gun battle that lasted two hours.

A source said the bandits recorded heavy casualties but the figure could not be verified.

Some bandits in February struck Zungeru in Niger State, attacking workers of the state transport authority and kidnapping some persons.

On February 2, bandits invaded Kanyan and Sabon Gida communities in Kurebe Ward in Niger State, killing some residents and injuring some others.
