Boniface reveals how Osimhen predicted his Bundesliga triumph last season

Bayern Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has disclosed what Victor Osimhen told him after he phoned the Napoli star to congratulate him on winning the Scudetto with Napoli.

Osimhen had a remarkable campaign with Napoli last season after he netted 26 goals in 33 appearances for the Partenopei to guide them to their first Scudetto title in 33 years.

Boniface, who joined the Bundesliga last summer has replicated a similar feat after helping Bayern Leverkusen to win their first league title following their 5-0 thrashing of Werder Bremen on Sunday, April 14.

The 23-year-old scored the opener in the 25th minute before Granit Xhaka added the second on the hour mark.

Florian Wirtz added a hat-trick in minute 68, 83 and 90 to wrap up Scudetto title.

Speaking in a post-match reaction, Boniface revealed that his Super Eagles compatriot Osimhen told him that next time will be his turn when he called to hail the Napoli star last season.

“Shout out to [Victor] Osimhen because I remember when they [Napoli] won the league. He told me next year will be your turn and it’s happening now. Senior man respect,” he told Soccernet.ng.
