Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress has been declared winner of Nigeria's 2023 presidential elections.

The 70-year-old officially marches to Aso Rock after defeating Labour Party's Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party's, Atiku Abubakar as well as other presidential candidates in the elections that were held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 to emerge Nigeria's new president.

The former governor of Lagos polled 8.79 million votes, whiles his main challengers Atiku Abubakar's and Peter Obi garnered 6.98 million votes and 6.1 million votes respectively.

The 2023 presidential election is the first time that Tinubu contested for the nation’s biggest job.

He left office as a two-term governor of Lagos State in 2007 and is credited with leading the coalition that ousted the PDP from power in 2015 and has increased his influence beyond the South-West region.
