Boko Haram, not ISWAP terrorists are the ones surrendering to Nigerian army – report

Boko Haram Boko Haram

Sources have confirmed that terrorists loyal to the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) have rejected the ‘ceasefire offer’ by the Nigerian Army.

It was also revealed that the over 1,500 terrorists that have so far surrendered to the Army are all members of the Boko Haram sect.

Naija News reports that the Boko Haram fighters have been submitting to the Army in droves even as recently, over 190 of them laid down their arms and surrendered to the troops.

They, alongside their family members, including women and children, surrendered to troops in Bama, Gwoza, Mafa, and Konduga, among other axes, in the North East.

But a source familiar with the development told PR Nigeria that only Boko Haram, not ISWAP fighters have been surrendering.

The ISWAP fighters are said to be hell-bent on continuing with their acts of terrorism and rejected the ‘deal’ to surrender and be forgiven.

Quoting a military intelligence source, the report said ISWAP leaders have rejected the opportunity to surrender to the troops.

Meanwhile, three notorious bandits have been killed during airstrikes by the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) in Zamfara State.

Naija News understands the airstrikes that eliminated the bandits’ leaders were carried out in the Kuyanbana area of the state.

The leaders killed were identified as Habu Nabayye, Isuhu Sadi, and Murtala Danmaje.
