Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika could miss next month's FIFA World Cup qualifiers after sustaining an injury on Wednesday, September 24.
The 24-year-old left the pitch in the 16th minute of Club Brugge's thrilling 5-5 draw with Westerlo at the Jan Breydel Stadium in the Jupiler Pro League.
The Nigerian international was replaced by Alexander Stanković.
Onyedika has made six league appearances for Club Brugge this season.
The club is expected to give an update on his injury situation ahead of their next league encounter against Standard Liège this weekend.
From the Nigerian perspective, Eric Chelle will be hoping that the injury is not serious as he prepares his squad for the crucial World Cup qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho.
With Dele-Bashiru already racing against time to be fit for the two matches, another injury setback would be a big blow for Eric Chelle and his technical team.
