Biafra: #FreeNnamdiKanu protest rocks London, UK

Nigerians living in London, United Kingdom, have taken to the streets in protest, demanding the unconditional release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Naija News recalls that Nnamdi Kanu arrested by the Nigerian government in Kenya last Sunday and extradited to Nigeria.

Some of the protesters waved the Biafran flag in a video obtained by SaharaReporters as they chanted, “Free Nnamdi Kanu now”, “Free Nnamdi Kanu now.”

Meanwhile, An American lobby firm, BW Global Group, has reportedly engaged the United States government over the arrest of the leader of IPOB.

According to TheCable, Foreign Lobby, a Washington-based platform, quoted BW as saying it “had been in touch with the State Department and Congress” about the arrest of Kanu.

It was gathered that the pro-Biafra activist signed a contract with BW Global Group to help promote IPOB in a bid to achieve its secession objective of Biafra.

A document relating to the contract revealed that the $1750,000 deal reportedly took effect from March 1, 2021, and is expected to last for a year.

In related news, a former Director, the Department of State Services (DSS), Mike Ejiofor, has expressed shock over the rearrest and extradition of Nnamdi Kanu.

Speaking to Channels Television, Ejiofor stated that the law should prevail on the matter of the pro-Biafra activist.

The former DSS boss stated that though he had nothing against the IPOB leader, he should have come back to Nigeria to led agitations for the Biafra Republic.

The secret police ex-boss commended the collaborative efforts of Nigerian security agencies over Kanu’s arrest.

“Well, when I got the news I was shocked. Shocked in the sense that we were not expecting this kind of arrest and that shows the collaborative efforts of our security agencies. And the issue of his arrest is a major one,” he said.
