Isaac Udeh, the National Chairman of the National Rescue Movement, has entered the ongoing conflict between the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Governor of Rivers, Siminalayi Fubara, over control of the state.

Udeh, in an interview with Punch newspaper, said it was unfair for Wike to keep fighting for control of the state when his predecessor did not do the same to him.

He expressed disappointment in the rivalry between Wike and Fubara, stating that it would hinder the state's growth.

Speaking on Sunday with our correspondent, Udeh said, “Wike should leave Fubara alone. When he was the governor and the party leader in Rivers State, his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, did not control the party. It was Wike who led the party due to his position as the sitting governor. He cannot finish his term as governor and still claim to be the party leader in the state. This is abnormal and unacceptable.

“He should let Governor Fubara be. The man has good intentions for the people of Rivers State. That's why we, at the NRM Party, fully support him because he is doing an excellent job for his people. Wike is the Minister of the FCT. He should focus on his responsibilities.

“When Amaechi was the Minister of Transport, he focused on his ministry in Abuja without bothering Wike. Why should he now bother Fubara? I urge the people of Rivers to come together in solidarity for the young and dynamic Governor Fubara to progress the state.”
