A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Bashir Ahmad, claims that Rabiu Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, has set conditions for aligning with other political parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
Reports suggest that Kwankwaso, who was the presidential candidate for the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), might soon defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party supported by opposition leaders aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu.
However, Bashir posted on Facebook that Kwankwaso and his supporters are currently looking for a platform to join. He also stated that the former Kano State governor insists he must be offered either the presidential or vice-presidential position.
He wrote, “Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiyya movement are shopping for a political platform to enter into a coalition with, but on the condition that he be offered either the Presidential or Vice Presidential slot as the basis for cooperation”.
