Balarabe Lawal faints during ministerial screening

A ministerial nominee, Balarabe Abbas Lawal fainted during his screening by the senate on Wednesday, October 4.

The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (ACP) was screened alongside Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Mr Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.

Balarabe was selected on Tuesday, October 3 to replace former Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai from the state.

Senate President Godswil Akpabio was heard requesting water and sugar to revive the ministerial nominee immediately the incident occured.

“Water, water! Can you give him sugar and water? Can someone bring water and sugar? Please, call Dr Wale!” Akpabio exclaimed.

He also asked the cameramen to leave the chamber as the senators tried to save the life of the ministerial nominee.

He was taken to the hospital at the time this report was filed.
