Baba Usman hands over to Kayode Egbetokun

The former Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba has officially handed over to
Kayode Egbetokun, today, June 21.

The Handing/Taking Over Ceremony of the Inspector-General of Police took place on Wednesday, at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

On Tuesday, Egbetokun was decorated at the State House by the Vice President Kashim Shettima at the presidential villa in Abuja and is expected to resume duties immediately.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu sacked Usman Baba and appointed Egbetokun as the acting IGP.

This was announced in a statement released by the Director, Information, Office of the Secretary-General to the Federation, Willie Bassey.

As part the changes of President Tinubu's administration, he also approved the immediate retirement of all Service Chiefs, Advisers, and Comptroller-General of Customs from Service as well as their replacements with immediate effect.

In a brief history about Egbetokun, he was the former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State. He was appointed Chief Security Officer to President Tinubu when he was Lagos State governor in the year 1999.
