BAT supporters clash with Obidients over Tinubu, Peter Obi long convoy

Tinubu supporters have taken to social media to lambast Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party over his comment on the President's long convoy.

Recall that President Tinubu's convoy which had over 100 vehicles was spotted on the streets of Lagos shortly after he arrived in Lagos from his first international trip enroute to his home in Ikoyi.

The video sparked massive reactions from Nigerians, including Peter Obi who slammed President Tinubu for such display.

He noted that leaders who ask citizens to sacrifice must be ready to sacrifice themselves and must cut down cost of governance.

“I’ve been asked questions related to cutting down the cost of governance and the complaints by Nigerians concerning a trending motorcade video. I wasn’t opportune to see the video, but I will repeat what I said.

“The present Nigeria requires that all those who serve and lead must do so by example. Their behaviour, character and public conduct (of those who serve) must be in consonance with what society requires today,” the LP candidate stated.
“You cannot continue to preach to people to sacrifice without sacrificing. The sacrifice must start now from the leaders, visibly, measurably at all times, because the people are suffering, and we must now be at the forefront of addressing the suffering,” Mr Obi tweeted.

However, in a twist of event, a video has surfaced of Peter Obi's convoy which also has several number of vehicles with residents hailing and praising him.

Many supporters of Tinubu, upon sighting the video, called out the Labour Party presidential candidate for speaking against the President's long convoy and not practicing what he preached.

In response to some of the comments, Obidients took to the defence of Obi saying that the videos were from his campaign and not during his time in office.

Reno Omokri: "How can you tweet and call Bola Tinubu the President and then delete the same tweet. Where do you stand? Is there an internal battle between your conscience and your ego? This is the same man whose supporters wanted to crucify a better candidate for deleting a tweet. You see. When you point one finger, four point back at you!"

Southstreams: My problem isn’t even Obi himself but those supporters who fail to see through his hypocrisy. They see him a some sort of a saint.
