The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Board of Trustees (BoT) has put together a committee that will tackle and resolve grievances between River state Governor, Nyesom Wike and presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The chairman of the BoT, Walid Jibrin, revealed this to the press on Wednesday, August 3, moments after the BoT meeting. He mentioned that are all part of the reconciliatory panel.

His words:

“We have set out, from this BoT, a committee to interface between warring factions particularly between the acrimony taking place between the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Wike and any other conflict that is taking place in the nation, within our party formation.”

According to the BoT chairman, it is unknown how long it will take to reconcile the aggrieved members involved.

“I cannot tell you the grievances and the duration but right now, we are heading to the candidate’s house in Asokoro to start this project," he said.

This new BoT committee comes about a month after the PDP set up a delegation to meet with Governor Wike.

It was gathered that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar was supposed to lead this panel.

The BoT chairman however stated that this new committee is different from the NWC earlier created.

“That is not within the purview of the committee. This is the BoT committee. That one is the NWC," the PDP chieftain said.

As a result of the ongoing internal wrangling happening within the PDP, supporters of Wike are calling for the resignation of the party chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

The aggrieved PDP members believe he that he supported the former vice president against Governor Wike.
