The calls for the resignation of PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu have intensified on social media after the resignation of Walid Jibrin, the chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party.

Mr Jibrin, a former senator, announced his resignation at the PDP BoT meeting in Abuja on Thursday, September 8.

His decision to step down was to ensure victory for the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar.

Mr Jibrin’s resignation comes amid calls that the party’s leadership structure be reshuffled to balance the existing lopsidedness in favour of the north.

The former BoT chairman hails from Nasarawa State.

With this, many will expect Ayu to tender his resignation.

Young Boss said: Ayu must go, jubril should go back to is position, PDP chairmanship must come to the South enough of kangaroo politics.

Sunday (Rock) commented: Everyone fighting for their own interests. They will say is for the good of the country. We just hope so!

Ngwe, David said: The law does not permit such except ayu just want out from where I stand they would get to the supreme court and still fail woefully so settling out of court is the best option for now if not it might last till 2025 they should negotiate.

Porgatry commented: Every well meaning southerner should stand with wike because PDP is gradually turning to northern people's democratic party, let there be balancing in the party.

Godwin commented: Atiku has no favourite. He is only interested in who will help him win election. That's politicians without ideology or philosophy. Chop and chop government of the canker worms...
