Adamu and Atiku Adamu and Atiku

Adamu Atiku, the Commissioner for Works and Energy in Adamawa State, has said that his father, the former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, will run for the presidency in 2023.

Atiku served under the Obasanjo administration as VP from 1999 to 2007 and contested for president in the 2019 presidential election which he lost to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

While speaking on his ministry's achievement in Adamawa, Adamu stated that his father will aspire for the presidency again because of his wealth of political experience.

He said, “Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with my father contesting for the presidency. In 2023, my father will be aspiring to the number one office in the land because he has been an astute, strategic, master politician for almost four decades.”

"I am basically here to serve my people; if I am called by the people back home to run for the Senate, I don’t see anything wrong with that.”
