The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar has said that he refuse to accept the judgment of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT).

Reacting to the judgement, in a world press conference held on Thursday, September 7, Atiku said;

"I am no stranger to legal battles and I have a fair idea of how the legal system works. All through my career I have been a fighter and will continue to fight and I must say I have found the judiciary as a worthy pillar to rest of the pursuit of justice.

The last election in our country, the way it was managed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC leaves behind an enviable precedent which I belief has a duty to redress.

Our gains in ensuring transparent election was gainfully compromised through the deployment of technologies was heavily compromised by INEC in the way it managed the presidential election. I am afraid that the judgment of the court rendered by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal yesterday, failed to restore confidence in our dream of free and fair election devoid of human manipulation."

I take great pains to tell you that the decision of the court in first instance on this matter, actually fails far short of expectations.

I am therefore here to tell you that thought the judgment yesterday is respected, it is a judgment that I refuse to accept.

I refuse to accept the judgment because it is bereft of substantial justice,” Atiku said.

On Wednesday, the court affirmed President Bola Tinubu the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

The court also threw out the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party. Not satisfied by the tribunal's judgement on Wednesday, September 6, Atiku.
