As founder of Winners Chapel, I earned N300 salary - Oyedepo

During the annual Shiloh service on Thursday, Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and presiding overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel), shared that his monthly salary was once only N300.

Addressing thousands of worshippers, he recounted how he depended completely on God’s provision when he dedicated himself to full-time ministry.

He said, “Jesus, who pays me now that I’m going into full-time ministry? And light came.”

He cited Luke 10, explaining how Jesus sent out seventy disciples without provisions, telling them, “The laborer is worthy of his hire. Just stay on duty. I am responsible.”

Drawing a parallel, he said, “No soldier gets enlisted and goes to his village asking for money to buy kits, gun, or uniform. The one that enlists you is absolutely responsible. No one goes to warfare at his own charge.”

Bishop Oyedepo emphasised that during his early years in ministry, he never once prayed to God asking how he would survive financially.

“My salary in the church as resident and founder was 300 naira a month.

“I never lobbied around anyone’s resources. I never sent any team member to beg from anyone. Forty-one years running, we’ve depended solely on God,” he said.

He encouraged followers to have faith in God’s providence, stressing that revelation and obedience are vital for spiritual and material breakthroughs.
