Arokodare off the mark in Belgium as Genk beat Gent 3 - 2

Nigeria striker Tolu Arokodare announced himself to KRC Genk fans as he scored on his debut on Sunday.

The forward came off the bench for his debut and scored a late winner for Genk in their 3-2 win at Gent.

A deadline day arrival in Belgium, Arokodare made the match day squad despite few training sessions with the team.

The striker was signed as replacement Paul Onuachu who joined premier league side Southampton.

With the Genk game tied 1-1, Coach Wouter Vrancken threw the 22 year-old into the thick of the action for Mbwana Samatta in the 65th minute.

Arokodare’s compatriot Yira Sor, who also came off the bench, then made it 2-1 with a fine header.

The former Amiens striker then got in on the action as he scored the third with four minutes remaining to give KRC Genk breathing space.

Ghana’s Joseph Paintsil scored Genk’s other goal of the game in the first half.
