 • Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been rumored to be interested in running for president in 2023

 • The APC stalwart will be 71-years-old in 2023, the same age as President Buhari, when he became president

 • The photo exposed the physical state of Tinubu

A frail picture of the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made its way to the public domain.

The picture, which was widely shared by people opposed to Tinubu running for the president, shows the weak look of the former Lagos State governor, presumably during the celebration of the Ramadan festivities.

Spotted in a sea blue jalabia, brown headgear, and his famous round-looking eyeglasses, the image raised eyebrows about the physical state of the man who could be the next president of Nigeria - he only needs to declare his intention to be president.

Now 69-years-old, assuming Bola Tinubu decides to run for president in 2023, he will be 71-years-old. Nigeria hasn't fared well under the guidance of men of the older generation.

President Buhari is a typical example. The then-candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was 71-years-old when he sold the message of hope to Nigerians.

Citizens were confident the ex-military ruler will be the change Nigeria always needed as he came at the time when ex-President Goodluck Jonathan was battling the scorge of the Boko Haram insurgence. The abduction of the Chibok girls in 2014 ensured candidate Buhari had the right weapons against the government of the day.

Unfortunately, he has outdone his predecessor as it seems Nigerian keeps retrogressing under his regime. Economic instablity, corruption, extra-judicial killings, rising tension in every part of the country, his inability to curb the threats posed by herdsmen, bandits, and Boko Haram insurgence has made the country a den of evil.

His health has been nothing to write home about either, as the president has at one point in his presidency had to sought medical check-up in the United Kingdom.

In 2017, he faced questions from Nigerians who questioned if he was well enough to run the country. In that year, the president spent more time in the UK than in Nigeria.

While we cannot tell for sure if Tinubu, should he become president, be different. One thing, however, is for sure, he[Tinub] will be 71-years-old in 2023 - the same age Buhari when he became president.
