National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, has opined that Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, would defeat incumbent Governor Charles Soludo if both men were to contest the recently concluded polls.

Tanko made the comment off the back of concerns that Peter Obi, a Labour Party chieftain, couldn't deliver his polling unit for the candidate of the party, George Moghalu.

According to him, Obi was not on the ballot and only campaigned for the candidate of party.

He made this known in an interview on Channels TV on Monday, November 10.

eacting, Tanko said, “Peter Obi campaigned on the basis of being a Labour Party member.

“He did that to give George Moghalu the opportunity to present himself to the people.

“The candidate of Peter Obi was not on the ballot, Peter Obi is strongly supported by his people.

“Let me say this. 17 years ago, the same Peter Obi ran elections with the incumbent governor, Soludo and former governor Chris Ngige, and he beat them. I can tell you that when you put Obi and such individuals on the ballot, he will still beat them.”

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the incumbent governor, Chukuwma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the election.
