Pastor David Ogbueli sparked debate with a sermon where he sharply criticised certain sexual behaviours within marriage, labelling them as spiritually harmful and misaligned with divine intention.

Addressing his congregation, the pastor expressed concern over what he perceives as increasing moral and spiritual decline among believers. He emphasised that intimacy should be confined to what God ordained for man and woman, cautioning couples against practices he considers corrupting the sacred vows of marriage.

“Suddenly it’s all about sex… the one God made for male and female, you don’t want it anymore. You want it from the back,” he said, cautioning that such acts even between husband and wife amount to defiling the marriage bed.

Referencing the biblical destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, he stressed that the judgment associated with those cities was not limited to same-sex relations but extended, in his view, to any sexual act he considers unnatural, even within marriage.

He went further to caution that such practices "open the door for Satan to enter the bedroom,” asserting that certain behaviors are affected by “the spirits of the Nephilim” and fallen entities seeking to manifest through human hosts. He explained that these influences might infiltrate individuals via immoral actions, inherited bloodlines, or sexual relations with partners already influenced by these spirits.

Calling for revival, he announced that “the revival is now mandatory in every church due to the extent of iniquity,” highlighting the importance of spiritual vigilance among members of all ages.
