Akpoguma agrees two-year deal with Serie A club

Kevin Akpoguma is on the verge of joining newly promoted Serie A club Frosinone after the Italian outfit struck an agreement to sign the central defender.

According to transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, Akpoguma will arrive in Italy on Wednesday (today) to undergo his medical and sign a contract that will keep him at the Canaries until 2028.

The Nigerian defender became a free agent after his contract with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim expired.

The 31-year-old made just nine appearances across all competitions for Hoffenheim last season.

Akpoguma brings an end to a 13-year association with Hoffenheim, having joined the Bundesliga club from Karlsruher in 2013.

During his time there, he gained valuable experience on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96 before cementing his place as a regular in Hoffenheim’s first team.

Akpoguma represented Germany at youth level before switching his international allegiance to Nigeria. He has made eight appearances for the Super Eagles.

Frosinone were promoted to Serie A last season after finishing second behind Venezia in the second tier.
