Akpabio's aide slams Peter Obi, says 'Toilet cleaner'

Ahmed Tijani, a media aide to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has slammed former presidential candidate Peter Obi over his comment on the accident involving boxing champion Anthony Joshua.

MyNigeria reported that Joshua survived an accident on Tuesday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. However, two of his friends were not lucky as they lost their lives, while he survived with minor injuries.

Joshua is currently recuperating at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos, MyNigeria gathered.

Reacting, Obi lamented about an unconfirmed report that there were no ambulances to convey Joshua to a hospital for treatment.

He wrote on X, "It is with deep concern that I received the news of the road accident involving former heavyweight boxing champion, Mr. @anthonyjoshua, in Makun, Ogun State.

"It is particularly worrisome that this incident occurred while he was in Nigeria. Many of us are also compelled to reflect on reports that no ambulance was readily available to convey him to the hospital.

"May God Almighty grant him a speedy recovery, and I extend my deepest sympathies to the families of the two lives lost. May God grant them comfort and grant the departed eternal rest. -PO."

Reacting, Akpabio's aide, Tijani, slammed Obi, questioning whether he had invested in ambulances during his eight years as governor of Anambra State.

This was as he threw shade at Obi's presidential ambition, referencing a recent interview in which he revealed that he once washed the toilets of an aircraft while governor of Anambra State.

He said, "How many ambulances did you buy in your time as governor? Did you invest in first responders as governor of a Nigerian state? One would have thought you would have pointed out how you prioritised emergency services as governor. Oh well, you cleaned the toilet of a British Airways flight, and I guess that's proof that you can solve Nigeria's problem."
