Senate President Godswill Akpabio has instructed his lawyers to drop all ongoing lawsuits against Senator Natasha and others. He announced this during a New Year service at Sacred Heart Parish in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Akpabio explained that he had previously filed almost nine court cases accusing various individuals of defamation and slander.
However, his stance changed after hearing a sermon delivered by the priest during the service.
“I had almost nine cases in court against some individuals who defamed me, who lied against me and slandered my name. But as I listened to the priest, I suddenly realised he was speaking to me,” Akpabio said.
He added that the message prompted him to forgive those involved, leading him to discontinue all legal actions.
“Therefore, I hereby direct my solicitors to withdraw all lawsuits against them,” the Senate President stated.
