Senate President Godswill Akpabio made a gaffe on Wednesday during a Senate plenary to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
While delivering condolences on behalf of the Senate, Akpabio mistakenly stated that President Bola Tinubu had been buried.
He made the gaffe while thanking the Tinubu administration "for what this administration has done in the way and manner President Bola Tinubu was honoured and was buried."
However, he corrected himself immediately, noting that it was Buhari who was buried with honour, thanks to Tinubu's assistance.
He added, "President Bola Tinubu will not be forgotten for what he did during the burial ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari."
He said the Senate will ensure that its records state that it held a valedictory for the late leader.
This followed a similar gaffe made by the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, while honouring Buhari.
Uzodimma said, "And the whole country is very proud of what this administration has done, in the way and manner President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was honoured and buried."
