Akor Adams’ sublime goal against Algeria in the quarter-final of the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations has been voted among CAF’s top five goals of the tournament.
The Sevilla striker netted the Super Eagles’ second goal of the game as Eric Chelle’s side edged the North African giants 2-0 to seal qualification for the semi-final.
A sublime pass from Alex Iwobi found Victor Osimhen on the edge of the penalty area before the Galatasaray forward laid the ball on a plate for Adams, who rounded Luka Zidane and slotted into an empty net.
It was the former Montpellier striker’s second and final goal of the tournament. Adams also registered two assists during the competition.
Goals from Morocco’s Ayoub El Kaabi, Cameroon striker Christian Kofane, Algeria’s Adil Boulbina, and Senegal’s Pape Gueye were also named among the top five.
