Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has officially written to the State House of Assembly seeking a 21-day leave.

The leave AllNews Nigeria gathered is for medical treatment abroad.

According to the letter, during Akeredolu’s absence, his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa will be the Acting Governor.

The leave period commenced on June 7, 2023 and is expected to terminate on July 6, 2023 with public holidays factored in.

Before now, there had been reported rumors of rift between Akeredolu and his Deputy, Ayedatiwa.

Akeredolu has been reported sick and he not been featuring prominently in government administration.
