Air Peace flight operations grounded nationwide

Flight operations of Air Peace have been grounded as members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, placed its terminals under lock and key.

Flight operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, have been disrupted due to a protest by union members working with Air Peace.

Consequently, an Air Peace flight scheduled to depart Lagos at 6:30 a.m. could not take off.

It is the same situation across all airports nationwide.

When DAILY POST contacted the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Michael Achimugu, for comment, he confirmed the incident and promised to provide further details later.

“Yes, it is a union thing. When I get to the airport, I will be able to get more factual details of the situation,” he told DAILY POST.

An X user, known as YoufoundAlex, took to his account and said:

“I have a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja today, but unfortunately, I am currently stranded at the Lagos airport due to an ongoing protest by Air Peace workers, which has resulted in the shutdown of the airport and disruption of flights,” he wrote on X.

The development left passengers in Lagos stranded due to flight delays.

However, the management of Air Peace has yet to speak on the incident as of the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, DAILY POST could not confirm at the time of this report whether the incident has affected the operations of other airlines.
