Air Force officer killed by terrorists in Kaduna

Muhammad Auwal Muhammad Auwal

Flying Officer at the NAF Special Forces, Muhammad Auwal was allegedly killed by terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state Saturday, September 5, 2020

This was disclosed in a tweet by Bulawa Bukarti, a Kano-based lawyer.

According to him, Flying Officer Auwal was the best graduating student in a recent course held at the NAF.

"Flying Officer Muhammad Auwal is one of the latest gallant men we sadly lost to terrorists. He’s killed yesterday (5 Sep.) on duty at Birnin Gwari.

He’s the Best Graduating Officer at the NAF Special Forces Course that held recently in Bauchi.

We’ve lost too many brave and promising men to the insecurity raging in our country. Govt officials and politicians must face this problem head-on. They must channel the huge sums wasted on their extravagant lifestyle to this problem and ensure every Kobo is spent transparently," he tweeted.

His death comes off the back of the death of Nigeria's first female combatant pilot, Tolulope Arotile, who died in July.

Arotile is said to have died after her colleague's car hit her while on reverse inside a military base.

She died after sustaining injuries to the head.
